What is the difference between a KOT and a KDS?

A KOT (Kitchen Order Ticket) is the order slip generated when a waiter punches an order — the kitchen's work instruction. A KDS (Kitchen Display System) is the realtime screen that replaces paper KOTs, showing live order queues and ready-states. Flocci pushes KOTs to its KDS instantly over WebSockets.

Paper KOTs get lost, smudged and mis-sequenced during rush hours. A KDS keeps the queue honest: orders appear the moment they are punched, cooks mark items ready, and service staff get alerted — no printer, no runner.

In Flocci Hotels ERP the chain is end-to-end: the POS terminal (restaurant, bar, or room service) raises the KOT, our realtime layer delivers it to the kitchen screen in real time, the KDS tracks preparation, and if the order is room service, 'Post to Room' places the total on the guest's folio after verifying the room is occupied.
